鹤壁是河南省优质强筋小麦生产基地、优质畜产品生产加工和出口创汇基地，是国家食品安全综合示范区。优质小麦品质符合国际质量标准，已出口新西兰、俄罗斯等国家。拥有瘦肉型猪、肉鸡、蛋鸡、奶牛4大生产系列，是全国最大的规模化肉鸡养殖基地和河南省北部地区最大的种猪繁育中心。畜牧业产值占农业总产值的比重达70%以上，居全国前列。鹤壁还以建立全国无公害农产品生产加工基地为目标，承担着国家食品安全综合示范重大科技专项的课题。

Hebi City is a production base of high quality wheat and processing and export base of high quality animal husbandry products in Henan Province, is a comprehensive national food safety model zone. The high quality wheat accords with the international standards and is exported to New Zealand, Russia and other countries and regions. Hebi has 4 production series of muscle pig, meat chicken, egg chicken and cow. It is the largest meat chicken-raising base in China and the largest pig-breeding center in north Henan Province. The animal husbandry output value accounts for over 70% of the total agriculture output value. Hebi is also bearing the national researching subject of food safety to establish the national non-pollutant vegetable production base.

依托丰富的资源，鹤壁工业已经形成了以能源、建材、冶金、电子、轻纺、食品加工、汽车零部件、高新技术等为支柱的产业体系，初步形成了煤炭、电力、金属镁、水泥、畜产品加工五大循环产业链条。鹤壁是河南省北部重要的煤炭基地、火力发电基地、水泥生产基地。现有企业9000多家，其中外资企业150多家。鹤煤(集团)公司为国家大型火力发电厂提供标准环保用煤，是全国十大出口煤生产基地之一。

Relying on rich resources, Hebi has established industrial systems with energy, building material, smelting, electronics, light textile, food processing and Automobile parts as its backbone industries, initially formed coal, electricity, magnesium metal, cement, animal products processing five cycle industry chains. It is the important coal base, coal power base and cement production base in north Henan Province. There are over 9000 enterprises in Hebi, in which 120 are foreign invested ones. Hebi Coal Group Company provides standard environmental coal for large scaled coal power plants throughout the country and is one of the 10 coal export bases of China. 2×300 mw project, the second phase project of Wanhe Power Generation Company is under construction and will be put into use in June, 2005.

鹤壁电厂2×60万千瓦时的三期工程已开工建设，2×13.5千瓦时热电联产项目即将完工，届时全市发电装机容量将达到260万千瓦。同力水泥有限公司日产2500吨熟料的二期工程2003年底点火生产，日产5000吨的三期工程同时开工，全市水泥年生产能力达540万吨。工业产品5000多种，其中鹤壁无烟煤、同力水泥公司高标号水泥、天元公司日用化工品、天海集团汽车接插件和线束、华中科技公司、彩鹤公司片式电容、博大集团熔断电阻、网络电阻、大用和永达公司肉制品等一大批知名品牌，在河南省乃至全国同行业享有较高声誉。

Hebi Power plant 2 x 600,000 kWh of power plant construction started construction phase, 2 x 13.5 kWh cogeneration project is to be completed, and at that time the generating capacity will reach 260 million kilowatts. The 2nd phase project of 2500 tons/day of Tongli Cement Company has been put into operation in 2003,the 3rd phase project of 5000 tons/day is under construction, The total cement out put reaches 5.4 million tons.
